Marquis Laughlin is making a rare New England appearance in Tolland, CT on Saturday, May 19 at 7 pm
Good News! The Creation Coalition of CT is planning several Creation-related events in 2012, including:

* SPRING: mark your calendar for Saturday, May 19 @ 7 pm at First Baptist Church of Tolland for a rare New England performance of Genesis by dramatic artist Marquis Laughlin with Acts of the Word. Marquis will perform Genesis chapters 1-2 in two 30-minute acts, from the creation of the world to the fall, the flood, the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah, and Abraham's sacrifice. Admission is free, and dress is casual.  Live praise and worship music will be provided by Soul's Desire led by Lou Piazza.

* SUMMER: the Institute for Creation Research (ICR) is bringing its new Rebuilding the Foundations seminar to the Tolland High School Auditorium on Saturday, June 30 from 9 am to 3:30 pm. The last time we brought ICR to Connecticut, we had a terrific turnout!  Mark your calendar and tell friends!  Registration is only $15 per person, $5 for children 12 and under.

* FALL: Creation Worldview Ministries with Dr. Grady McMurtry is returning to our area for another series of seminars on creation science on September 9-12 at several local venues. Details to come.

There are opportunities for you to help in several ways, including volunteers, exhibitors, and sponsors. If you are interested, please contact us.

"In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth."  Genesis 1:1

Connecticut is a beautiful State, demonstrating God's awesome "intelligent design." Welcome to the website of the Creation Coalition of Connecticut, an ad hoc, all-volunteer group of scientists, educators, businesspeople, clergy and others who are interested in bringing a "creation worldview" to contemporary Connecticut culture.

In 2000, we brought the Institute for Creation Research (
www.ICR.org) "Back to Genesis" seminar to The First Cathedral in Bloomfield, CT.  We had 2,500 people there, and the event set an ICR record for book and tape sales.

In 2008, 2009 and 2011, we brought Dr. Grady McMurtry, Founder of Creation Worldview Ministries (
www.CreationWorldview.org) to Cornerstone Christian School in Manchester, Union Congregational Church in Rockville, Rockville Church of the Nazarene in Rockville, First Baptist Church of Tolland, and Ellington Baptist Church. Over the years, we have also provided
local churches with high-quality resources such as books and tapes, to help them to glean wisdom and insight on a creation view.

In describing his experience in listening to Dr. McMurtry, Creation Coalition of CT Co-Chair Drew Crandall used this illustration:

"Pretend for a moment that you're at a shooting range in Rockville.  There are several targets that people have not been able to shoot at very effectively.  One target is called Evolution.  Another is called Global Warming.  There are a few holes in these targets, but for the most part they stand intact, daily reminders of the limitations of the people taking shots at them.  These targets stand strong, almost like stationary Goliaths mocking and daring the Israeli army to do something about them.

Then, one day, a stranger named Dr. Grady McMurtry drives up to this shooting range, with credentials and claims that he can decimate these difficult targets. Very few people from these parts know of him, so the crowd is not huge. But the crowd that has come is engaged, interested, enthused, and ready to experience something powerful.

You see, by God's Grace and Power, this Dr. has been fighting a global battle against such targets for over 30 years.

He gets out of his car, and opens the trunk.  Inside is this unique mega-weapon that's designed just for this purpose.

The crowd steps back in awe, anticipation and surprise.

The good Dr. places the weapon on his shoulder and prepares to fire.

First, he aims squarely at Evolution.  Then, he pulls the trigger.  The Evolution target is immediately pulverized into teensie-weensie pieces fluttering in the wind.  The crowd stands in amazement and cheers.

Then, he aims squarely on Global Warming.  He pulls the trigger.  The Global Warming target is instantaneously reduced to a pile of smoking rubble.  The crowd jumps up in excitement, and cheers.

The good Dr. then places his weapon back in the trunk of his car.  He distributes information to help others to destroy similar targets.  Then, he drives away to New Hampshire, leaving in his wake a bunch of dumbfounded people who have had their minds dramatically renewed and equipped to continue the daily battle against Worldly Thinking."

"Whether or not you believe in God and creation," says Crandall, "you owe it to yourself to explore the possibilities."

Connecticut is a gorgeous little State!
